Alter ego

Hi, my name's George and I'm a kinda cool guy. You see, Jorge, my alter ego, is always complaining about his present life and missing his past calm life. He even says that land smells good. Rubbish. Pizza smells good. And also tastes good.

The reason why I'm writing right now is because I would like to understand the meaning of that strange word called "saudade". You see, I don't get it. If you miss something why don't you go on and get it? It doesn't make sense. C'mon, what's the big deal?

Jorge tried to explain me that we miss it but there's no way of getting it back, because time has already gone. Then I tried to convince him that if he fought for it, maybe there was a way of doing it. He just smiled and said that if he did and weren't succeed, he would be sorry, because instead of missing it he would be disappointed, and it's better to miss something that we don't have anymore than recovering it and see that is not the same as it used to be.

Well, anyone may have their own weird thoughts. For instance, I don't write in Portuguese because I think it's cooler to write in English, like David Fonseca thinks it's cooler to sing in English (man, do you know it should be "put me on your supermarket list" instead of "put me in your supermarket list"?). If I were to face a Prime Minister like Blair or a President like Bush, I would probably think that Portuguese was a good language. At least, I wouldn't understand a word of the rubbish they say.

Well, I'm leaving before Jorge comes. He really doesn't like the mess his alter ego leaves when he passes, so I'd better not be around. See you, folks!

Hi George,
não sabia que tinhamos um novo membro no Ante et Post.

Hi Karla,
you see, as Jorge said, he's a case of multiple personality. I'm his alter ego which in fact means another blog's author. But I'm also more handsome than him. ;-)

This is just unfair!

So: I felt kinda guilty of writing in Spanish, people around convince me of doing it in Portuguese and now we have a whole post in this language so far!

Well... we´ll talk about it, Jorge-George.

C u later!

Hi Dani,
